Efficacy and safety of uterus transplant
đđđđĢđĸđ§đ đĸđ§đđđĢđđĸđĨđĸđđ˛ may be acquired or congenital and may result from a dysfunctional or totally absent uterus. For example, women with đđđ˛đđĢ-đđ¨đ¤đĸđđđ§đŦđ¤đ˛-đđŽĖđŦđđđĢ-đđđŽđŦđđĢ đŦđ˛đ§đđĢđ¨đĻđ are born without a uterus. In France, it is estimated that đ¨đ§đ đ°đ¨đĻđđ§ đĸđ§ đ,đđđ suffers from this medical condition, and uterine transplantation is offered in particular to these women. đđĄđĢđđ đĨđĸđ¯đ đđĸđĢđđĄđŦ are estimated to have successfully occurred in France thanks to this procedure, and around 70 worldwide.
A study recently published in đŊđ´đđ´ proposed a đ-đ˛đđđĢ đĢđđ¯đĸđđ° đ¨đ đŽđđđĢđĸđ§đ đđĢđđ§đŦđŠđĨđđ§đđđđĸđ¨đ§ in women with absolute uterine infertility. The aim of the DUETS study was to evaluate the đĨđ¨đ§đ -đđđĢđĻ đĢđđŦđŽđĨđđŦ and đŦđđđđđ˛ of uterine transplantation. Out of 20 participants, uterus transplantation was đŦđŽđđđđŦđŦđđŽđĨ đĸđ§ đđ% đ¨đ đđđŦđđŦ, and đĢđđŦđŽđĨđđđ đĸđ§ đđĄđ đđĸđĢđđĄ đ¨đ đđ đĨđđđŦđ đ¨đ§đ đĄđđđĨđđĄđ˛ đđĄđĸđĨđ in these women. đđĸđđ đđđđđđđŦ đ°đđĢđ đđ¨đĻđĻđ¨đ§ in both donors and recipients.
