How cats improve your health
Pets are incredibly central to life in France, so much so that one in two of all households have at least one. According to a study conducted in 2015, France has nearly as many pets as people – 63 million!
In joint position as number one pets are dogs and, especially, cats, which grow in popularity every year. In fact, the FACCO-KANTAR/TNS study conducted a year ago reported there to be around 13.5 million pet cats in France.
Our love for cats is fully justified; they repay us in the many health benefits they offer. For cats actually provide real positive effects on our health: stroking them is calming and helps lower your blood pressure, reducing your stress and boosting feelings of relaxation and well-being. Even their purring is thought to be beneficial for the bones and problems of insomnia or anxiety.
Though not everybody can have a pet cat, luckily there are now "cat bars” cropping up around Europe. Why not pop in and get your relaxation dose?
