The harmful effects of mobile phone waves
Repeated use of mobile phones has long been accused of increasing the risk of cancer, especially
brain cancer. Yet scientists working on this issue have found it difficult to present tangible proof, until
now.
Now, an American study has brought to light new findings. As part of the National Toxicology
Program, they studied rats to find an “evident link” between mobile phone use and cancer.
Both male and female rats were exposed to radio rays similar to those emitted by mobile phones,
and their risk of developing cancer clearly increased. There were some limitations to the study,
however: the signal used was far stronger than that used by people, the female rats appeared to be
less exposed, and 2G and 3G signals were used, which are not commonly found today.
